That was in season 2, when they got desperate after realizing that nobody wanted to watch a show about a Life Guard Detective, so they turned it into a show about a Life Guard fighting monsters.

The first thing I thought when she was walking down the hallway was "Stifler's Mom is about to get murdered by a cult", so I'm glad I'm not the only one getting those vibes.

I still find it bizarre that the network forced them to resolve the mystery soo early in the season, I have no doubt the series would've gotten a third season if the big reveal was saved as the season finale cliffhanger.
I never knew about the episode order thing, not sure what either of them were expecting tho since 22-24 episode seasons was the standard at the time.

The mid point of Season 2 can be a real drag and I tend to fast forward through some of it whenever I do a rewatch. It really picks up again around the last 8 episodes or so tho.

It was fun until I saw that video of a mob of people that literally busted the doors at a Walmart open and trampled over a janitor. Apparently getting their hands on what's essentially junk a few minutes early was more important that poor guy's life.
I also witnessed customers literally tearing a display stand to pieces and then collectively throwing the entire thing to the side like they were wild animals that just finished devouring their prey. A buddy of mine got stuck in the middle of it and pulled some kid out of there that was being violently shoved around by grown adults.

Season 2 was fun for all the wrong reasons, Season 3 was straight garbage.

I usually just look up the cast on the movie/TV show wiki or IMDB page, but Prime Video has a feature that names actors in a scene, it can sometimes be hit or miss tho.

I also find myself usually fast forwarding every scene with Donna after a certain point whenever I do a rewatch, both James and her should've been pushed in the background after the central mystery was solved since (IMHO) they're just boring characters.
