Lol the crusades is one of the worst understood parts of history. If you want to understand, start reading a lot of books on it. The pop culture history is very inaccurate and in many cases the exact opposite of the truth

Probably because Caesar wanted to use his defeat as a political tool to help him retain the consulship and get even more popularity with the lower classes.

It got close during early 1941 when Britain was calling for Churchill to sign a peace treaty but there's no way Russia would have signed a peace deal after barbarossa
