Pollyanna, maybe? Iirc it's less humorous, but overall a similar style and vibe.

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky tbh. It was good, I enjoyed it, but I it was definitely not a 11/10 masterpiece that most people recommend it at.

I really enjoyed the Bossypants audiobook by Tina Fey, read by her.

Agreed! Sure nice hardcovers look great on the shelf and will probably last longer, but on the other hand, my floppy paperback copy of Project Hail Mary was so comfy to read... I love the off-white paper they tend to have too.

The problem is, Polish and English are very different languages, so translating between them is difficult. If a master translator made an attempt at re-translating Witcher it would probably improve, but in my opinion... not that much.

Book Geralt is an awkward introverted grandpa with occasional badass moments lol. The show is a horrible portrayal of his character, imo.
Idk about the translation into your language, but the English translation is not that amazing tbh, at least the first two books, then it gets better because it's by a different translator. But why not try and see which you enjoy reading more, I guess?

Reply to Are there any books you're actively putting off? Is that even something other people do? by adam4231
I put off reading series until they are finished, unless it's an author that's known for delivering (like Sanderson). I have been burned in the past and I will not do this to myself again, since there are hundreds of other books I could be reading instead of investing time and money into a story that will never be completed.
