I’ve also gotten free meals and thank-you gifts from families of people I have helped. It’s a trade-off. Attorneys are one of the few professions where you are hired specifically to be adversarial to someone. It is not surprising that some people take that personally one way or another.

I am an attorney. I have been refused service at coffee shops, restaurants and even retail shops where the owner was related to or was someone on the other end of a (edit: resolved) lawsuit (or more frequently the victim in a criminal case where I repped the defendant).
Comes with the territory of being a lawyer.

Reply to comment by IndsaetNavnHer in Missouri votes against banning children from carrying guns in public by VidE27
Almost everywhere allows children to use firearms in appropriate environments with parental supervision. Many states also authorize children over X age (usually 12 or 14) to carry a gun while on their parent’s property (arguably for guarding cattle or whatnot— not really relevant to most kids today) with authorization from a parent.
The current status of the law in Missouri is insane— pretty sure even the Founding Fathers didn’t let children under drafting age just run around with guns.
