The best route to commute is finding another job. That's absolutely asinine of them to request that of you.

Depends where you are. State roads are usually cleared but some towns might only have 2 or 3 trucks and can't keep up.

Nobody should be tailgating anyone, but the State roads were plowed perfectly fine at 7am this morning. I'm talking bare pavement and you get people going like 25mph as if their car is going to suddenly do a 900 into the gutter. If you're that afraid to drive due to the presence of snow, when the driving conditions are not actually slick you should probably stay home.
To be honest, some of the shittiest cars I had 10+ years ago were the best in the snow! Everything is about the tires. If you budget accordingly and put even a set of used snow tires on a shitty car, you'll be amazed how planted it feels.

Waterfront property here is majority privately owned and kept under-developed on purpose. Many small towns have sanctions against such things in order to maintain historical structures + small town living.

Reply to Was anyone on Route 9 South this morning between Newington and Cromwell at ~8:15? by SourPix
I’ve seen them do this several times on Route 9 due to a traffic pattern being setup ahead, or an oversized transport entering the highway in a congested spot.
I believe it’s called a “Slow roll” there are usually 2 cruisers for it, but since Route 9 is 2 lanes down that way they probably only needed one.

This is true, they have their own town-owned power company. It's dirt cheap and seemingly always online. We never lost power when I lived in Wallingford in 2010-2011 even during those giant snowstorms that took everyone out.
