Best analog I could think of is a non waxed canvas backpack. Just a sack on your back

That bag is made from pig leather. Still durable but much thinner and less structured. I haven’t seen any particularly good or bad reviews on it.

Nalgenes cost $20 or less and will survive that. My kids have been rocking the same pair of nalgenes for years now. One of the lids ended up getting melted by the dishwasher, but a replacement was $3.

I've personally used them for camping/hiking/work for about 25 years now and none of mine have failed....except for the one that we tried to destroy. Ran it over with a truck, froze it full of water, eventually it was the 12 gauge slug that did it in.

That’s what I’ve been carrying for about 3 years now. (Card wallet) and I love the design. Craftsmanship has been impeccable

If you want bfl, and non stick, the closest you can come is cast iron. Lodge makes cheap, highly available pans/pots in lots of different sizes.

Look at Patagonia workwear. Expensive but I’ve been very happy with my pants and coat.

I’ve got a few of their bags. Generally travel with a baby beast and thin briefcase. Both get compliments regularly.

Yeah. Depends on what you are carrying. When I’m carrying bumpy or heavy loads, I always grab my goruck gr1. Excellent bag and I’ve never been able to justify the cost to get a leather one because of how good it is.
