For most users of ML frameworks, results take priority and there isn't much they can do about AMD's shit software and unreliable support. Plus even 4090s aren't really that expensive relative to what ML people make.

That said, Intel might actually be able to compete once their drivers have caught up. Unlike AMD, who seems to have systemic issues (not to mention fatal design flaws in ROCm in general), Intel just needs time because they clearly rushed the devices out before the drivers were fully ready.

On top of what others have said, one additional aspect of pre-learned experience that we're only kind of starting to look into for ML is that there are architectures that seem more predisposed certain tasks than others.

For instance, "What's Hidden in a Randomly Weighted Neural Network?" discusses how untrained subnetworks in sufficiently large networks can have decent accuracy in classification tasks, in certain cases even when the weights are set to a constant value.

Evolution has had much more time to refine such strategies than ML models have had.

Yeah the T50rp has saved me so much money by being so perfect when modded that I barely even use my other headphones let alone consider "upgrading".

They sound great, super easy to mod and the suspension strap mod along with thicker pads makes them ridiculously comfortable.

I recall reading that the driver they use is the same as their higher end models, so maybe that's why it can be made to perform so well after some modding.

Anime is getting pretty mainstream in much of the world, it isn't off putting to younger people. Even moreso in Asia, where most of these brands are based.

If anything it's weird that this sub often reacts so negatively to anime mascots when so much of modern entertainment is influenced by it or shares the same roots these days. Here in New York at the mall near my university pretty much every store has a section for some sort of anime merchandise, be it statues, clothing, anime blurays or books. Even various big tech companies have anime mascots they have used for advertising in Asia.

For instance, gaming is pretty mainstream these days, both Sony and Nintendo are giants in the industry and both are Japanese, a significant portion of the games on their consoles are either anime style or have similar roots. Thus it's also only natural that those people are at worst indifferent to the style rather than actively put off.
