So many people in this thread (probably including OP too) who think that people actually try to dry a literal dripping wet phone with rice…

Rice absorbs moisture in the air. So if you’ve dropped your electronic device in water and want to be sure it gets completely dried out even on the inside, you would dry the outside of said device first, and then place it inside a container of rice or another moisture absorbing material (like cat litter). You would leave it in there for at least 24 hours or more depending on how sure you want to be that it is dry inside.

OP is not wrong either, as air flow in a dry room should also do the trick. The caveat is that you need to be sure the room is dry enough to allow the moisture inside the device to evaporate away.

That’s why it’s easier to use a bag or container filled with a moisture absorbent(rice) because it’s easier to achieve a dry environment inside a small container than it is to maintain the same level of dryness in a room.

Happening on or off wifi?

Off wifi, web page load speed is entirely dependent on your carriers network speed, how good your connection is, and how congested the network is in your specific area.

The same applies to your wifi connection, but usually wifi will tend to be faster and more reliable.

For example, I use Visible, a low cost Verizon alternative. Every now and then I will have slow or “throttled” mobile network speeds because the visible network may have lower bandwidth priority vs the actual over-priced Verizon network.

I’ve replaced the screen protector on my 12 Pro about 3 times now. I’ve had it since release.

Each time was due to a drop and the protector ended up getting cracked. Once was a direct screen impact onto gravely concrete.

Each time the protectors just peel away, revealing the original screen still in perfect condition

Like, “the clear solution” is for Android users to buy an entire Mac computer and set up some message forwarding system just for the sole purpose of using iMessage features…

Yep, I’m sure the android users will be flocking to this “solution”.

What if I want a huge phone with no features?

What if I want a huge phone with X features and not Y features?

What if I want a small phone with X, Y, and Z features?

What if I want a… (insert random iphone configuration)?

… I think you get the point.. we could have a million different iPhone models and go more and more granular with the features to satisfy everyone, or Apple could simplify their line-up so new customers aren’t inundated by 20 different models with names like Pro, Pro max, plus, mini, etc.. it turns into a slippery slope of more and more names that will just get more confusing as more options are added.

I think sticking to a small selection of 3 - 4 models would serve them better. Include the more premium options on the standard size and pro max model, but give the pro max slightly more since it is the flagship of the lineup with the biggest battery.
