Yep, I go to slightly-upstate NY about 6x/year, always get my amtraks about a month in advance (or longer). Usually ends up being about 90$ round trip for BWI to Croton-Harmon.

I'm in the same zip code you mentioned, and my internet drops for a few hours every once in a while (I'd estimate once per month). And I don't even work from home, so it probably happens more often than that and I just don't notice

honestly nothing compares. when I get homesick I go visit relatives or friends in NY/NJ. I appreciate baltimore for what its good at (more lowkey unpretentious vibes + its own kind of cuisine), not for what it could imitate about other places. if you want bootleg NYC go to chicago
really wish we had more fuckin trains though

I've only spent a lot of time in NY, NJ, DC and MD but definitely not NYC or DC from my limited list. some of the nicer parts of baltimore feel a bit like hoboken
