It’s always busy during the last week of December in the city. It was busy during thanksgiving weekend. It’s a normal sight. What matters to be totally honest is how well the Eagles do is what will generate traffic post Mummers because no one wants to visit Philly in January. It’s cold and the holidays are over. It’s not a knock but that’s why people go somewhere warm and I don’t blame them

I had to wait for a friend who worked at 8th and market and I said I’ll hang around nearby outside. It was at 5:30pm on a weeknight and I could tell you that I don’t blame anyone for not stopping and lingering and just going to their final destination. You could add all the electronic billboards you want but the crowd you want isn’t hanging around when it gets dark

When you look at the original plans of the city. You’ll see William Penn’s layout of 5 squares with city hall being where the center square lies. It’s all measured in the same distance. In fact. If you stand at City Hall. All the streets reset at 0. So you’ll go 100 South Broad which is one Block away. 200 South Broad is 2 blocks away etc

Grab a outdoor table at Parc and enjoy a cup of coffee and croissant while seeing all of us have to go to our jobs. Or better yet / grab a table at Sampan for happy hour which starts at 4pm!
