I have been commuting from 12 to 18 for over three years. Currently at work now. There is a definitely a microclimate by the rest stop. There are a lot of unexpected snows that I came across. The most different part is the speed of other vehicles on 89. They are consistently 15-20mph over the speed limit even in shitty conditions. I feel like 89 is worse than 93 when it comes to shitty drivers. 93 just comes to crawl a lot. So maybe that’s why you don’t notice the shittiness.

This. We brought in our pepper plants. We sprayed the soil with neem before after one bad experience. Seems to have solved our problem. I also set up home made fruit flu traps with a small bowl. Half apple cider vinegar, half water, a drop of dish shops. Plastic wrap over the top with a few holes poked in it. They seem to have been attracted to that.

It’s staffing. When a facility is full lately, it’s not typically because of how much equipment or beds we have. It’s because we don’t have staffing to take care of said number of people. There are wings and floors. In Dartmouth’s cause, buildings that are sitting empty.

I can tell you from first hand experience working in hospitals that this is true. Younger and older (mostly people without children at home) healthcare workers can make 3-5k a week as a traveling nurse or tech while people who are working for the hospital makes 700-1200 a week. Traveling employees also do a great job planning for vacations. They can just sign a contract saying…nah! Regular employees see management denies us left and right now.
