Huh. That's a pretty strong statement. Perhaps I'll give it an episode.

Oh. Eh. No thanks. Thanks for clarification before I actually went to find out.

I actually didn't even know there was a remake, and I'm kind of morbidly curious now.

Part of the mystique was the era it came out. There was nothing like it at the time, it blew people's minds.

So it's just an attempt at a humor piece, about a belligerent drunk who told the cops that he was Jason Borne, but get this, he actually wasn't.
Wow.

Kind of off topic, but: one of my favorite things to do is put on a movie originally in Chinese, then switch to the dubbed English track, and also the English subtitles at the same time.
It's a great demonstration of how wildly different an interpreter can phrase things with basically the same intent.

Fuck yes all of that. You and me are scifi twinsies.
I suggested Nivens Ringworld series, but I think Pohls Gateway series would be ripe as well.

Larry Nivens Ringworld series.
It's a massive environment, packed with aliens, lore, and adventure, enough canon to make 10 seasons easily. Had a clear beginning and end narrative, with room for tons of everything in between.

This.
I think most people don't understand, or think about, all of the moving parts that go into any production.
I like to think of it as the "Brad Pitt effect". Brad is neither a great actor, nor a bad one. He's only as good as the writing, the direction, the whole of the movie. Give him a great role in a great film, with a smart director that has a vision, that knows how to bring out what is required, and he shines. Give him a shit part in a shit film, and we get World War Z.
Adam Sandler is another fine example.
Edit: to clarify, in regards to Ops question, and your response, I don't think it's always thee actor making the role great, but often the other way around.
