This. It’s crazy to think it’s considered “fresh” now…not that I’m complaining, I quite love this genre. But I remember barely a decade ago when USA had its “characters welcome” phase that they then moved away from trying be super serious like everyone else. And don’t get me wrong; some fantastic programming came out of that new mandate. But it’s like we all pretended a certain segment of audiences no longer existed and now we’re shocked to discover “oh wait, yeah, people still want to watch this type of stuff”.

It becomes a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, though, if you pirate anything you’re interested in. “I can find it on the open seas” —> because “peacock isn’t worth it as a service” —> since they only have one show you’re interested in that might get canceled from low viewership numbers due to the aforementioned piracy.

I agree they’re lacking in comparison to other platforms but $5 is pretty cheap when you consider you can literally subscribe, binge the show you wanna watch (plus others), and cancel before the month is up. For that matter it’s even cheaper than buying a season of a show on physical media like a DVD or digital download like iTunes.

You sure know your stuff! Thanks for indulging. I’ve vastly enjoyed running my wires through interior partition walls way more than my exterior walls with insulation (and blocking in one case! That was a nightmare!). I’ve just never run with conduit so wasn’t too sure about all the particulars. Who knows how OP’s conduit was installed but these are all great considerations to take into account.

These are really good points; I guess I was just assuming OP already knew it was an empty conduit for Ethernet/speaker/etc wire, instead of something that might terminate at the label. Smart to check beforehand!

Also, I’m just a DIYer so I’m not aware of all the specific tools, I have used fish tape in the past and have a set of fish rods I use for installing new outlets at my home, but if the conduit behind the wall twists and turns many times, would fish tape still be indicated? Would it be able to, say, fish a wire through multiple right angles? I’ve never done it, I’m just curious. I suggested the magnets because I saw a video online of someone hooking up a cheap magnet to (unpowered) romex and then using a powerful magnet on the outside of the wall to magnetically “drag” the cable inside the wall downward. I figured you could perhaps do roughly the same with turns if needing to move laterally.

If there’s indeed conduit already run, that’ll be a hell of a lot easier. But if it has lots of twists and turns, that’ll complicate things (unless the conduit already has something in it). Remember you only have so much control when feeding a wire to encourage it to turn at a junction—even the pro’s will deal with the same limitations of physics. Maybe there’s a world where you can run the cable through the conduit with some powerful magnets?

AFAIK, it’s roughly kinda the same theory we have as to why/how life itself exists. Certain chemical compounds—in the right structure—could potentially spontaneously allow for reproduction, based on the physics/chemistry of those structures. Some of those eventually evolved into what we now are / know as “life”, while viruses are (in some ways) perhaps a more primitive version of that.

I see! I don’t use that feature for the wallpaper to occlude the clock text so I’m not too familiar with how it’s intended to work. At one point I thought I saw that Apple intentionally transitions those wallpaper designs between different states when unlocked versus locked, but I’m just not aware enough myself to be able to properly help. I’m sorry!
