I respect the artistry of the placement of the gaping open cat's mouth. A very hungry mouth.

And by giant they mean 2 inch wingspan. And by Jurassic era they mean it was widely found until about 1950 or so, but not seen since then.
But otherwise the headline is spot-on!

Reply to A study found that "cannabis use is common amongst patients with tinnitus and current users of cannabis reported that it helped with their symptoms." by OregonTripleBeam
Tinnitus , like insomnia, is not usually the real issue. The issue that brings patients for treatment is generally anxiety or frustration with tinnitus or insomnia, or other similar problems. Any treatment that lowers anxiety has a very good chance of 'helping' the tinnitus or insomnia -- the problem does not go away or resolve, but the sufferer does not ... suffer ... as much.
And obviously everything is a bell shaped curve and any person may be outside of the +/1 2SD central area.

Reply to Owning a pet is linked to having better cognitive health in advanced age, study finds by nikan69
I would assume that people who have better cognitive abilities would be more likely to successfully get, care for, feed, and provide vet care for a pet than a person who is in some stage of cognitive decline, ie pet ownership is a marker of better cognition and not a cause of it.

Reply to In 78 years it will be 2100. People will have close to 200 years worth of feature films to watch. How do you think people getting into film then will go about it? by topazdude17
By then VR on steroids will be mainstream. You will be totally immersed in a whole body - all senses experience. The old sight and sound films from now will be like the silent movies from the early 1900s - of historical interest, studied in art schools maybe, but def not a part of the current entertainment ecosystem.

Reply to comment by tezoatlipoca in eli5 what does an inverter invert? by [deleted]
So an inverter generator would convert the raw generator AC output into DC, then convert it back into AC output as you described, 'cleaning up' the raw AC current so it is safer for electronic devices?
