oh i dont fucking know, maybe try to make main st less of a death trap? maybe actually give a shit about pedestrians? maybe stop designing every single piece of asphalt in the country for the sole purpose of moving cars as fast as possible? oh but boo hoo the suburbanites would be mildly inconvenienced, so lets make main st 4 lanes wide and have the sidewalks floating above, then drivers won't have to interact with those p*destrians

because in america we need big flashing lights to get drivers to stop for pedestrians… sigh

yeah. people hate to admit it but an entry camera can create amazing photos with a bit of trickery

the amount of people who spend 1000+ on a phone with a fancy camera and dont really know how to use it is kinda annoying. spending the extra seconds to adjust exposure and composition makes something go from “oh cool” to “wow thats awesome!”

im voting #2 because it promises pedestrian accomodation
whilst #3 also says that, its a new complex intersection which means ppl would have to wait at lights and deal with high speed slip lanes
and yes my criteria for good infrastructure projects is good walk/bike/transit

interesting they didn't do some of the grander stations like south station boston, 30th st philly, union station chicago (would have been perfect) or union in dc (which inspired milano centrale... yes america used to inspire other countries in public transit!)

even though a subway would probably never come to richmond, lausanne has a really weird rubber tire metro system that’s actually really cool, especially considering how small the city is

chesterfield is run by dumb suburbanites that see the bus as what poors, homeless, drug addicts, and crazies use
the sad reality is suburbanisation means bus services wouldnt be too usefull anyway, unless its going to be zig zagging through residential streets, and even then the population density is just pretty low

no, when its the best option available people will use it
nobody is going to ride the bus if it comes every 30-60 minutes and is constantly stuck in traffic, even if its free

vcu is one of the most high pedestrian areas in the whole region, we should design streets to accommodate that
mindblowing, right?
