If you really want help repairing your reputation, I would write out a heartfelt and thoughtful apology to the entire school and ask to read it to everyone or get it printed in the school paper. Be proactive about acknowledging how stupid this was and you're incredibly sorry.

Call cox, make them replace lines and such. I had some issues and they ran a new line and replaced a few in my house and I rarely have problems now.
