You're acting like there's no subtext. The subtheme of death, failure and renewal as something regular humans lack and don't understand is a constant theme. Pinocchio gets to live several lives in an environment and time where most humans don't and it enhances the OG story while making its own progress.

I agree the film isn't perfect and the songs should have been better but it's a very deep cut into humanity as a whole.

Also there's no pilot process, they just order a whole season. The teams making them get no outside feedback at all and can only tweak between seasons which is looking like less and less of a thing on Netflix unless it's a dirt cheap show like floor is lava or pressure cooker. It's the same strategy that the WBD CEO has developed over the years. Good TV doesn't mean money, cheap shit that people just have on does and it's really sad.

I think Netflix is definitely playing with fire(regarding the loop of wasted viewing time to cancellations) but based on your argument I'd actually say most likely the top 10 is bullshit. Just like their current gen rating system. It thinks everything is 90% what I want even though it has 90% of shit I don't like.

Cameron's sense of mise en scene is masterwork. He arranges giant action sequences that track well. They show plot points without telling. When Whedon had to make the battle of new York in avengers 1 he studied Cameron's work. I'm not wild about the avatar series but Cameron's work is among the best action ever.

I feel The Rookie tends to be Cop positive but mainly in the "this is how it supposed to be" sense. Fillon gets to say a bunch of stuff about cop policies and why they exist, we often get an on screen reason and then the plot does dumb fun. Same show has Smitty who is the critique of every bad unable to be fired cop persona out there.
