Summer of 2019 I went up to Alaska for a family vacation. Just north of Anchorage, we dropped into a small shopping center with a JoAnns fabric store. There was a security guard in full police tactical gear with a rifle inside the store. It did not make us comfortable thinking about why they would want that level of armorment in a store that sells sewing machines and craft stuff. After leaving we, searched maps and found it was really close to an impoverished trailer park.

It's not worth fighting. I just say "it's cold out are you sure you don't want to wear ______". And if he says nope, I'll be fine, I wait for the I told you so that eventually happens. If it isn't going to kill or permanently harm them, let them learn the harder way.
Saturday night I took my 16YO son to the RU football game. I wore fleece lined jeans and boots. I suggested similar for him, but he said "I have wool socks on I'll be fine." As he wore thin jeans and sneakers. Guess who was cold before the end of the 1st qtr?

Nothing in the article implied that she had sexually assaulted a kid yet. Fortunately she was caught before that happened. Definately looks like she was grooming kids getting them ready to do what she wants, but until someone actually commits rape they aren't officially a rapist.

We use mice as an animal model for medical research before we test the same thing on humans. The current recommendations is to house them at 24C. This experient was questioning how housing them at a warmer temperature might impact the results of the experiments we do before human trials. Questions about how a new drug is metabolized in mice before we test it on humans can have big implications if we aren't testing the mice under the correct environmental conditions.

People don't read, they just look at the title and assume. Lesson of the day, be explicit in the actual title. You're going to get several more comments on where to buy pies gif

Self serve sucks if you want to pay cash, because you have to walk in and pay the cashier first, then go pump, and if you want to fill it, you need to go back inside to collect your change.
Credit cards are a little bit better, but because every pump is different, it is hard to tell if someone slapped a skimmer on one, that an attendant would be more likely to notice.

Hmm, looking out for himself, instead of looking out for the interests of the people who elected him. Of course we demonize him. He is a POS who turned his back on the people who voted for him. He should go to Hell.
