oh no, I'm not a disbeliever in singularity. I believe that people will adapt to singularity too.

If memory serves well, this was actually the feeling in late 1990s and early 2000s.

Internet revolutionizing everything, institutions not keeping up, careers becoming obsolete...

(Incidentally, this was probably the feeling at the time when the printing press was invented)

Back then, parents used to advise their children to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.

Now AI will revolutionize everything, young people, being among the most adaptable organisms on earth, will adapt to that, make new careers, or make careers obsolete, or something else, but they will go on.

And then something else will revolutionize everything and things will go on cycling (hopefully, if we can avoid cycling out of control and becoming grey goo).

I think parental career advice doesn't have, and never had, a role to play in all this.
