I still think France can win it, I just don't think it will be as obvious as it was last time. Griezmann is indeed playing out of his mind!

Sure, but they have the ability to score and I still think they are a favorite to go deep.

They were tenth headed into the tournament. That makes them a dark horse, not a predicted winner or favorite.
A dark horse is a team that's good but not expected to win, Denmark fits that bill. If everyone came out of groups seeded by FIFA ranking there would.be nine other teams who would be predicted to win before Denmark.
Not sure how that doesn't make them a dark horse. It's also why I specifically called it out, to showcase that while I'm calling it an easy group, I was not discounting the talent of Denmark.
You'd have been better off reading my comment instead of being offended by it.

Not to discount Denmark, who I think is a dark horse this year, but France is in a pretty easy group (by world cup standards).

After that world cup, I don't know why Chelsea didn't just shove him into the exact same role and build a tactic around him.
It's similar to how I questioned why Belgium played KDB as a defensive midfielder at that world cup......
Lots of questionable coaching choices in soccer lol

As the other reply said it's not a yes or no and very dependant on why said player is important.
In this case Kante was an absolute beast of a holding midfielder last world cup for France. He basically dominated the midfield and gave France WAY more possession as a result.
Without him they are allowing more chances for opponents which will lead to more goals against which I think will ultimately cost them the competition, especially if it plays out how I think it will where they face Belgium or Brazil at some point on the way through the knockouts.

France looks good again, but without Kante I'm not sure they'll repeat. From the looks of things the tournament is really up in the air with no one team truly standing out above the rest yet, which is awesome.

The average is too high, don't get me wrong. At about 650 a year or 12 a week, that's insane, but it's not all related to the world cup. I'm having trouble finding stats from before ten years ago to compare to though so I won't make any claims that it is equal, it could be higher due to the world cup.
The main point I'm aiming for is that 6500 number is constantly incorrectly applied.
At the end of the day, fuck Qatar and fuck FIFA either way.

The migrant worker death figure is just migrant workers that have died in Qatar during that period. It is not related to construction specifically. It includes all forms of death. The 6500 number is wrongly used and I'm not ok with that.
Shit even if zero workers died we'd have a good argument against Qatar hosting this world cup, why use incorrectly applied data to prove a point that doesn't need help proving?

6500 migrant workers have died in Qatar since work began on the stadiums whatever amount of years ago. That figure includes ALL death, not just construction related let alone on the world cup specifically. Die by heart attack in old age? Counted, get hit crossing the street by a car? Counted.
Many of the workers are Indians, the death rate in Qatar for them is less than at home.
That's the point. The 6500 is being used with misleading headlines to make Qatar look bad. Qatar doesn't need help looking bad but these misleading stats undermine that by making people more willing to believe Qatar ISN'T that bad and media is just lying to make it LOOK bad.
I'm sorry, I'm in agreement that Qatar is bad, but I will never agree to using misinformation to support my convictions.

Qatar is bad, but the 6500 number is not the number dead due to stadiums being built.

Let's not use misinformation to get our point across.
