Great place! Our astronomy club went there about 25 years ago. We brought telescopes (including one very large one) and showed the passing visitors the night sky. We were up all night, and some folks were kind enough to make tacos and share those and their desserts with us. We all tried to remember lines from Monty Python movies and skits and just generally had a terrific time.

Sounds like the movie October Sky, which is just Rocket Boys—the name of Homer Hickam’s autobiography—spelled differently.

Nice to see those hills again. I lived in neighboring Fairfield for 40 years and worked at the prisons in Vacaville for 25 years. It’s a pity these hills occasionally burn during the dry months. We almost had to evacuate inmates one year.

When you stop to think about all that you could do with that data on gas and dust, well...I don't know.
