Nearly all ad placement is driven by machine learning algorithms, so although I'm not saying Facebook wouldn't do this anyways, I would bet these statements are true because 55-yr-old men actually do click on ads with teenage girls and white people actually don't click on ads with black people in them. And the machine learning process simply picked up on this trend to maximize click-through rates :(
