Used to work for Comcast customer retention back in the day. Miserable job, don't reccommend it lol. Anyway they don't have the ability to just give you whatever deal you want - the deals available are pre-chosen by the customer service system based on your history with Comcast - but there should be at least something in their toolbelt that they can use to sweeten the deal for you.

Call in, tell them you'd like to cancel, be adamant about it, and when you get to customer retention, give them the same spiel and let them know it's too expensive for you and you'd rather go without. They'll inevitably throw some offers your way to try and keep you.

There's a good variety of locales in the state and it's hard to give any real input here without knowing what you want. But in my opinion at least I wouldn't recommend moving there. The entire corridor from Boston to Lowell just kind of sucks. You get a lot of the cons of densely populated areas without much in the way of pros. It's expensive, public transit isn't great, traffic is consistently a nightmare and one way or another you're going to have to drive 30 minutes to an hour in either direction to go to anything fun.

There are a lot of good things to this state, many that people have mentioned already, but you should also be prepared for the bad. The winters can be brutal and depressing, be prepared to spend the 3 coldest months barely ever seeing sunlight. The culture here is a lot more closed off than the rest of the country too. That's not to say people are unkind - but you may find it difficult to spontaneously make friends the way you can in other regions, it takes some deliberate effort.
