Interesting setting and world building but a pretty forgettable film. Saw it when it was in theaters and outside of the first city chase, I can't recall a single thing that happened.

Counterpoint: My friends and I drank at that age, all got good grades and are now fully functioning members of society. Can't speak to the 90s specifically as I was a teenager in the 2000s, but your personal antecedents are hardly a hard and fast rule.

EDIT: Looked it up and between the years 1991 - 1993 the median age for teenagers to start drinking was 13.65 years, so a 14 - 15 year old drinking is right in line.

I was really hoping you were but also Christians who use a lack of understanding of their own religion’s teachings to justify horrible actions are a dime a dozen

And this level of understanding is why Christianity is fucked

>What if they are religious?
Then the parents are shit practitioners of whatever religion they follow. Imagine calling yourself a Christian and kicking out your child because of their sexual preferences. Definitely missed the whole "love your neighbor" lesson.

I don't think this really true. There are plenty of films that "scored" poorly on Rotten Tomatoes and went on to gross huge amounts and plenty more that "scored" highly and grossed peanuts.
Even if this was true, Rotten Tomatoes is literally just a review aggregator so your argument would condense down to "should we eliminate movie critics completely?"
