I've seen it happen when the dog is in too much pain to go for long walks, or has lost their sight.

Reply to Just finished season 1 of True Detective, would like some more stuff exactly like that please. by Mally_Mac
Lol. There is nothing like it! Not even season 2 was like that.
Season 2 was decent, and would have shined if it had been season 1. But the writing and Matthew McConaughey were just insane.
I firmly believe that his television performance influenced voting for his academy award for Dallas Buyer's Club. (True Detective showed January 12, and the Oscars were March 2.) Every body who saw True Detective was in awe of his insane acting chops. With that performance he blasted away the "Mr Rom-com" image.

Do you know why he and his brother first moved up there? They were running moonshine down into Portland! And had their still up there. The guy was more of a character than he liked to admit!

Actually, he'd made up his mind to leave, but left it too long. (Family friend worked in the Forest Service up there and talked to him often.)

That could have been me and my sister! Spirit Lake was a great place to visit in the summers, but it often got thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Go slower than you think is necessary. If people are passing you, flipping you off, you're at the right speed. And allow 4x as much space between you and the car in front of you.
Keep the speed down even if the road seems clear, because you don't see black ice. That is especially likely around bridges and overpasses because of the cooler air flow underneath them.

I suspect that we won't see many varients from China, just because there will be no pressure on the virus to evolve.

If they find a pile of ash and a high voltage line someone tried to cut into, then it's burglary. Otherwise, it's revenge or terrorism.

Fwiw, ski boots at this time were essentially heavy leather hiking boots.

I flew into Oslo in October, and was in awe of the cold weather clothing they were selling there. That was some serious stuff. It snowed that week and I happened to see a group of school kids on a trip (maybe 5-6 years old?) and they were really decked out!

Training newbie pilots sounds like it might be scarier than flying through flack. Probably a toss up as to which one will kill you faster!

The odd thing about Port Angeles is that it's much more likely to be sunny and clear than other places on the peninsula. It's so well known that it's the local emergency landing for planes when the other airfields get socked in.

The buildings it replaced were no loss. Liquor store and bars in a run down, 90 year old building.
