I love the owl in theory but, intentionally or not, we got served food with soap in it once years ago and we never went back.
Not the kind of impression you get over, even if it was a mistake. :/

Jimmy's Pizza Too's fryer is trustworthy.
Alternately, Eliu's has a fried chicken sandwich that'll knock your socks off.

Bonchon's great but far if you're not in the highlands, and pricey.
We've got a bb.q now. It's pretty good! Their fried chicken sandwiches are legit.

varies WILDLY year to year. It's the sort of event that lets local politicians and business people grease each other up in public-but-private events and then walk out hoping not to be stopped on the street.
Worst-case it's an excuse to get drunk in a tent with people you sort of recognize.
Back in the day you'd be in for human dogsled races. That...is not a thing I would've believed existed had I not seen them with my own eyes.

lol it's January in New England, my dude, get a pizza and curl up in a blanket and check back in like April.
Kidding, kidding. Sorry. Been a day.
there's a valentines day themed market at Mill 5 next weekend:

And open studios at Western Ave:

Winterfest is the next big town-run thing, I think. That's a couple weekend out tho.

Just to be specific: warp and weft is welcoming and lgbtqia friendly in its way - I can’t think of any of the more established restaurants downtown that aren’t, really - but it isn’t what I would call a gay bar. Downtown doesn’t really have one, and it’s a shame.
I suggest looking into The Keep and The Safe too. Bit younger crowd

If you want a large Asian population (depending on the specifics), hospitals, and a downtown with stuff going on, you should look into Lowell. Only thing not in your list are truly excellent schools but you aren’t going to get more diverse than LHS if that’s what you’re looking for.

My problem with Comcast isn't even the service, it's the price - 110/month for 600mbps, a tv plan I don't use, and hbo I barely do. If I go down to internet only, I save 5 bucks...at least so far as I can tell, you can't actually check the comcast website for any deals cheaper than your own, like, if you go to "channel maintenance" all it lets you do is add them.
...and then the fees bring it up to 140.

Q for the OP: do you have an actual wire into your residence? Or did Verizon provide you with a wireless modem to connect to a central wireless access point?
I know this sounds like a random question, but if it's wireless, 5g has troubles in our brick and iron buildings, and for my own cranky tech reasons I would much prefer a wire.

Anybody know if this fiber is actually going to be available downtown? I haven't heard anything but part of Verizon's reasoning for not wiring Lowell before was the expense of doing it in the historic district - I wouldn't be surprised if the less dense areas get fiber while downtown is stuck with comcast, at least for awhile.

This is sort of hard to articulate but: the person didn't feed me soap, the business and its systems did, and institutional memory is a thing. Like, even above "make a tasty meal" in your rules for running a restaurant should be "don't poison your customers."
Letting someone (or a business) feed you requires a one-way trust - only one of us can get sick from this arrangement after all - and one-way trusts are brittle.
The worker gets all the forgiveness in the world but I'm not going back to the business.
