Reply to Kusterand and Pappas vote to keep troops in Syria despite no authorization to have them there. Why? by klem18
Leaving in 180 days sounds like another Afghanistan withdrawal. Syria also just suffered a devastating earthquake. I would hope they do not leave a void that adversaries would be thrilled to fill. 74% of members of the house voted against this plan.

I have 2 fundraising cookbooks from groups in the lakes region. They're from the 90s and had some historic recipes in them. I'll check them out. Libraries might have these type of cookbooks you could check out.

Exeter is almost as pricy as Portsmouth and has less access to public transportation. The grocery stores are not necessarily centrally located.

Please take note of the property tax rate in NH and the energy rates. NH has the 2nd highest electric rates in the US which I'd hitting families hard. Oil or gas heat is also very expensive. Just want you to budget accordingly.

Add to that they probably take daily medication that they haven't had in days. Without it they might be far worse

Where are you staying? What are your interests? There's a lot to see and do in NH.
Off the top of my head I'd say drive up 93 to Littleton. See the Old Man of the Mountain former site. The Flume hike is awesome. Echo Lake is cool to see as well. Littleton is a cute town. Back south towards Lincoln. There's a cool tower to climb at the Indian Head Resort. You can see the Indian Head in the Mountains from there.
Lincoln is a cute town too.
Kangamagus is a must do. Lots of places to stop and see nice things.
North Conway is amazing. Great restaurants, cool stores.
Jackson covered bridge.
Lots of hikes, little waterfalls in the area as well as very challenging hikes
See Mount Washington. Auto road if you dare.
Storyland if you have little kids is adorable.
Lakes are awesome. Lots of great beaches to swim in. Rent a kayak or canoe or a motorboat if you can.
The seacoast is lovely too. Some very nice beaches. The weekends can be busy at some of the bigger beaches.
Portsmouth is fun. Amazing restaurants, shops, etc. Strawberry Banke is interesting. See a show at Prescott Park, take a ride to the Isles of Shoals.
I could keep going. So much to see for such a small state. Everything is pretty drivable and accessible.

They're usually handed down. What was your grandmother's #? Maybe you could get that one if it's available. Obviously there are only 999 3 digit plates and 9999 4 digit plates so not many are available.
