The Roman Kingdom was formed with the city in 753 BC, and Rome became a Republic in 509 BC. A lot of their famous innovations were made well before they became an empire. The aqueducts were built as far back as 312 B.C.

Reply to DIY Kitchen Cabinet Drawer Help! by byzantinesaint
I hate to break this to you, but you almost always have to design the cabinet around the specific hardware you buy. There's not much standardization in the industry. You can't just swap out one brand draw slides or another ... and I'm guessing this brand (style) died a long time ago.
You're almost certainly going to have to mod the base cabinet to support modern draw slides.
But don't just buy something, and hope you can make it work. Look online for three or four options, and download the install instructions. See which style will be the easiest to use based on the cabinets that you have.

The article basically reads like, "Hey Google, why didn't you hire a bunch farmers to work remotely for you as app designers." ...
And I probably shouldn't reject their idea of apprentices off hand, I have no idea how that would be implemented. It's a nice idea, but don't think I've ever seen a white collar apprenticeship program period, let alone a remote one.

Move most theaters are 2K. I'm not sure why your home theater needs 100x more pixels.

There's mental phenomenon that occurs in subjective matters where when you think something is better, the more you enjoy it. This has been proven with wine. The more expensive a tester believes a wine to be, the better they will rate it. It's also most likely why the Steinway pianos don't sound any better in the lab, but do in the concert hall.
Comments like this that have absolutely no scientific basis immediately remined me of that. I'd be that the OP believes he sees a difference, but could prove it in a blind test.

There's also a ton of legal issues involved, especially with respect to hiring people in other countries (as this article talks about).
A few years ago, I found out how many rules there were just to import goods. Don't fill out this form before you stuffs on the boat, that's a big fine. Don't have this paperwork, your goods are destroyed by customs and you get fined. Goods don't meet specs, good luck dealing with that in a Chinese court.
I can't image how many freaking rules there must be if you hire employees or even contractors in another country.

This article is 20 years early. Things don't change overnight. We had a bunch of white collar workers move to rural areas. It's going to be awhile before we know if that's a trend or just a fad.

Thanks for the clarification.
I was wondering how idling your engine for 30 minutes produced as much carbon as DRIVING for 90 minutes.
