Reply to What songs do you think rely heavily on the chorus, and kind of hate the verses. by MediumToblerone
Virtually every contemporary pop song. They’re all full of nonsensical versus and are built strictly on a catchy hook or chorus

The Pixies? Are you kidding me? They aren’t grunge and never were. They’re more a pop and alt rock band than anything. Nirvana and The Pixies aren’t in the same place

Hated is a bit strong, they were massive at the height of their career. I’ve recently gotten into them but I always knew they were big despite not being a huge fan

Only Love Can Save Me Now - The Pretty Reckless
The minute i heard that song I knew it was one of the best songs that Taylor Momsen had written and the band had made as a whole. Why it wasn’t a single prior to Death By Rock and Roll’s release blows my mind

Accurate for you maybe but it’s not at all accurate for someone else since music taste is subjective. I’ve only heard one of those albums and it doesn’t even crack my top 20

Reply to Why you hate Muse if you hate Muse and why you love Muse if you love Muse? by wickedexpectation
I like Muse but I don’t love them. I enjoy their music but I completely understand why people don’t like them and in some cases can’t stand them.
Their style is very unique in the sense not many bands were doing prog/space rock in mainstream rock at the time so since they brought something different to the table they got popular super fast and when that happens a lot of people get burned out fast. Also their style isn’t the most beloved style of rock by any stretch so I totally understand the reasons of people who don’t like them.

Reply to A theory on the music that we love the most. by willk95
For me personally that’s not the case. Most of music I listened to in that period I find to be good but I don’t love it.
I feel it’s more about where you are in your life when it comes to the music that you love because people change so their tastes change as well

Some of the more overrated instrumentalists that popular music has seen. They were fine but there have been so many other bands with significantly better players.

They’re not because they didn’t mold the entire scape of what became a certain genre. That’s why to me the best band of all time is Led Zeppelin because rock and roll as we know would cease to exist without them. They laid the groundwork for every band to exist after them, Nirvana included.
Now I’m not saying Nirvana wasn’t important or influential, they most certainly were because they brought a sound and a city to the forefront of mainstream music but I don’t personally feel Nirvana was a true pioneer in terms of their impact on music as a whole.
Nirvana was a great band, the band of an entire generation but I don’t feel they’re the best that’s ever existed.

Reply to Something kinda deep by Interesting-Emu3973
I totally agree. I feel there’s a lot of music or listeners who don’t notice the artistry of lyrics and how impactful lyrics can be in a song. To me there are a lot of songs that lack depth lyrically and are nothing more than a means of cashing a check, but that’s just me.
I’ve also noticed that as I’ve gotten older, I notice and comprehend the complexity of lyrics much more than I used to when I was younger even with songs I’ve been listening to my whole life. It’s quite interesting to see how mood and age change the perception of lyrics.

Måneskin is a great. They cover various sub genres of rock and are continuing to improve with each and every release.
Prophets of Rage are a great combo of rap and hard rock. It’s members Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and Rage Against The Machine, it’s amazing.
