I genuinely love that show. It's always on my list of shows I wish would've gotten more seasons.

It's incredibly disappointing when you can unethically obtain "free" versions of shows or movies that offer a higher quality viewing experience than you would obtain by paying for the same content.

It seemed to enjoy the arugula, blackberries, and pecans the most...no real comment on the goat cheese, bacon, or warm bacon vinaigrette.

Reply to Any love for the tv show The Pretender? by DonutHoles5
The Pretender was great. I'd support a reboot...if they kept the tone more serious than light-hearted.
I do think the original show skewed a bit light-hearted in places, but there's a dearth of shows of that nature which tend more towards intensity, and a Pretender reboot would fill that gap nicely.

Cliff is the right answer.
I could see Beatrix Kiddo if we were doing a Battle Royale of the characters within the Tarantino universe who are fictional in-universe, the so-called Movie Movie Universe.
But respectful of Tarantino's creation, I think this question she be answered separately for the Realer Than Real World Universe and the Movie Movie Universe.
So Realer Than Real is Cliff Booth.

Yes, but their cash-on-hand has shrunk dramatically over the last few years. Now that may be an indicator of reason for them not to use their ready cash for an acquisition.
But interest rates have also risen, and borrowing money for a big acquisition would be cost prohibitive. They also draw criticism among shareholders for not making better use of their cash reserves.
Their factories in China are fighting a constant war of protest and disruption of late. China itself is becoming more volatile.
I think there may be a sense among some major investors that Apple has a very real need to diversify their potential profit streams.
Maybe they hoard their cash against the coming storm. Or maybe they spend a big chunk of it acquiring a company so large that the acquisition may lift them both, but for that to work, they'd need to acquire a company so solid, no one doubts their future is bright.

Apple has a stupid amount of available cash on the books, and unless they're run by idiots (they're not), they're eyeballing a lot of big merger and acquisition opportunities which would allow them to divest substantially from their current position which is almost singularly dependent upon continued cooperation from China.
Any companies that can offer them that may be in their M&A sights. I've been concerned for awhile that they might gobble up Disney, and I'd hate that. While Disney isn't exactly the poster-child for responsible corporate behavior, they're better by a long stretch than Apple.

Respect for them choosing to stick to their plans and actually use the real names of known nobility, rulers, and clergy of the era.
Mostly I respect that because every third person is named Æthel_____. Any sane production would have subbed 90% of those names out. But they had a roadmap and stuck to it, and it actually worked.

On the songs, I will often unlock my phone and hit the microphone in the Google Widget, and have Google find the song for me, but it's always a race to get the search happening before the dialog starts up again.

In the last few years I've been really mobility limited, so it's possible that I've just become more reliant upon my phone.
Watching things falls into three categories:
- Watching alone: I'm probably watching on my phone or on the TV while also browsing my phone. I'll pick a time when things are slow to look something up, or I'll pause. But it'll distract me from the show if I don't find out.
- Watching casually with my wife: I'll ask her, and if she doesn't know, I'll look it up on my phone, same as above.
- Watching seriously with my wife: Sometimes we follow Drafthouse Rules. No phones, no pausing, lights off, but we can have food/drink. In that case, I make a point to look it up later.

This is the single greatest reason to own a smart phone. Forget all of the conveniences and empowerment. Being able to look up where the hell you know a certain actor from is peak smart phone usage.

Pretty sure it goes back to 1935's The Miracle Rider starring cowboy legend Tom Mix.
But that's what my dad, who was born in '28 told me. It may go back farther and he just wasn't aware.
