It does not matter what the cause is, buses are too slow.
A great thing the city did was make Chestnut a bus-delivery avenue in CC. Traffic flowed. Buses were on time.
The fantasyland where one day cars will be smote from the Earth is never happening. You either make byways that are buses only, find a way to make light rail applicable in urban areas or drive a car.

It is gonna be a crackpipe before too long.
One of the most terrifying conversations I had in the last few years was with a police recruiter a few months back. You have no idea how talentless the PPD is going to be when the next wave of pensioners retires.
So many in here love to take shots at the PPD. OK. Many they deserve it, but when you see what passes for a Philly cop in a few short years, you will move to Wyoming---and then vote the same way that caused you to leave Philly.
Fat, dumb, old cops are the future of this city. I hope I am wrong, but I ain't.

This assumes buses move rapidly. They rarely do.

Based on how obese these cops are, it may be because walking up and down steps is too difficult.

Why are they having problems recruiting?
That's a rhetorical question. I know the answer.

Physical requirements are waved because no one healthy is applying. So you get Police Academy movie characters.

3 uniforms from healthy cops that resigned to serve elsewhere---somehow ignoring the ridicule of Redditors as they drive out on 95 South.
Anyone who can not show the slightest care for their outward appearance like these chubs hasn't the fortitude to be an affective police officer.
But this is the police force that you have leftover; filled with 3rd tier rejects that never leave leftovers.

The cops in the video are fat. Most cops I see in Philly could not beat me in a foot race.
The healthy cops left Philly, and what is left is gooey and disinterested.

For all the disagreements I have with the Redditors in this sub, I see a post like this and I smile the rest of the day.
My mother, known for her terse comments, would see someone park like this and would say, "Talent wasted."
I still don't know exactly what she meant, but this post made me think of that.
Thank you.

Yes, it was. For unfortunately obvious reasons.
My argument was not fleshed out due to time constraints. Occasionally, I work.
Jeff Brown may be behind the action, but perception often supercedes reality. Do not give Amen Brown any opening to be seen as persecuted.
Amen Brown has zero chance to win. Let the dead rot quietly.

I mentioned him in here a few months ago as someone who should be ignored.
He's not going to win. Despite being personally nice, he's a crook.
But if it is seen by some that White liberals are trying to kill off a Black man's candidacy, Brown now has an angle to work and free publicity to exploit.
He's more dead ignored than he is challenged.

Wildwood is way shady right now. Avoid.
AC has minigolf on the Boardwalk and the one pier is fun enough for kids.
As mentioned by others, Ocean City is your best play.

I asked a SEPTA official in December how they are getting on and off the platforms. He told me there are organized groups of people that go around helping them with fares.
That feels conspiratorial to me, but this official swore by his claim.
