I always love the subtle (and often not-so-subtle) argument anti-Apple people make that somehow purchasers of Apple products are just being scammed into spending money on stuff they don’t actually like. It’s all just marketing, and there is no actual quality in Apple products. Very magical thinking right there.

Like at some point, the proof is in the adoption, no? I’m not saying that the popularity of Apple products necessarily makes them heads-and-shoulders better than everything else on the market. Just that, with this much of a sample size, it beggars belief that this many people can so consistently be buying obvious garbage unawares. That theory just prima facie doesn’t hold a whole lot of water.

Far more likely that the people floating this theory really are just engaging in some kind of derangement syndrome, which helps them cope with an inferiority complex that arises, irrationally, from their tech consumer purchasing decisions. In other words, it’s a personal problem which they choose to project on people who, for example, buy Apple products.
