I own a home on a salary of 63K. It is possible, but it can be very stressful at times. I have 2 children and a wife who is a stay at home. I got quite lucky securing a USDA loan.

Oh my God, no way!! Pete is the man, and Biannas has been my go to spot since I moved to Tolland. My son loves going in with me because Pete always is excited to see him and gives him a bag of chips.

It is hard more often that not, but it's worth the budgeting to have a secure place for my family.
To answer other questions, it's a ~1700 Sq FT house in Tolland. I paid 135K for it, 0 down, no PMI.
