Vote for bike and transit infrastructure in Quincy. I commute from Cambridge to Quincy via the T and would love it if they invested in either the Blue bike network or a light rail network. Washington Street is begging for better transit options and more mixed use development.

I asked this evening. Unfortunately it seems the staff is totally in the dark and also a bit upset about learning all of this through social media. 30 cents per ride is a 12.5% increase in price per ride. That's a significant amount of money for a Wall Street banker let alone most people . Spending 12% more on your transportation with no improvement to the speed and reliability of service is a bridge too far and will result in fewer riders which means less revenue. It may not completely negate the gains but it won't result in 12% more revenue for the T. At best maybe 0.5%

A better idea would be to tax all road users for millage travelled and add tolls to I-93, Rte 2, Rte 3, and the other major roadways into and out of greater Boston. Only allow that tax revenue to fund the T. This makes choosing to drive more expensive and thus taking the T a more attractive (although slower) option. This would also have a follow on effect of more revenue from increased ridership. All of that new funding could be used to expand service and improve transit time and reliability.

Can't charge more money for worse service. The only reason most use the T is because it is cheap. If it were expensive more people would drive thus reducing any gains. You need increased ridership to earn more money. The only way that will happen is if service is expanded.

It's still there. On Amherst St on the odd side from the MIT medical lot to the corner of Wadsworth St. Only signs are tow zones to protect the side walks and corners. The other sign posts are just bare polls.

Yep. Happened to me before I had a resident permit. I was parked on an unsigned street. There are still no signs there and it's odd because they can never tow during street sweeping due to it. They always come and the DPW says they can't sweep until traffic hangs the signs

I did not at the time, but I was parked on an unsigned street. It's in the law, but I think for permit holders it is much more rarely enforced.

If a meter person notices you haven't moved your car for several days they will start giving you vehicle storage tickets which is parking for more than 24hours in a spot. I found out the hard way.

Last July the Cambridge stretch was between 9:00 and 10:00pm roughly. Your best bet will be to meet under the Zakim Bridge at Paul Revere Park and join in from there. I might try and post an update in bikeboston when we get to the dance party at that park

Yeah I see people get confused often on Longfellow Bridge. I once stopped some tourists and showed them how to get around to the other side.
