We've started a tradition to cook a meal from another culture each year, we choose recipes that are used for celebrations and we go to the library and check out a bunch of cook books and books for our 4 year old on that culture. This year: GREECE! We are roasting a leg of lamb, making a butternut squash moussaka, roasting a whole head of cauliflower and smothering it with herbs, feta and Greek honey. My in-laws should arrive in a few hours, our daughter is playing with her new toys and the wood stove is roaring. Sending vibes out, happy holidays!

We just put our little one down for bed, it's the first Christmas Eve, at four years old, that she's ABOUT SANTA. Spent ten min putting out cookies, milk and iced tea out for Santa and a few carrots and a bowl of water for the reindeer.

Enjoying the wood stove, some homegrown, and a flan from my family's dinner earlier.

Not true. The zoo owner is well regarded by the animal cruelty task force lawyer who prosecuted cases across the state. She knows the zoo director bc she has placed rescued exotics in the past there. She has given the zoo high commendation for the care they provide. The lead vet there is also a pretty big deal in breeding some kind of wild cat, maybe leopards iirc, and releasing them into the wild.

Zoo's usually bum me out too, which is how I struck up the conversation for her when we served on the animal welfare grants committee at CF of Richmond.

My partner is on the road that early... To go to the gym🙄🤣.

I'm looking forward to an early dinner at Joe's with my parents tonight before we all head out to go trick or treating with our Queen mermaid fairy.
