I think uniformly bright. But it was hard to tell if it was shoutiness in the midrange or spiciness in the treble

EF400. Funnily enough I remember thinking it was odd that turning it up all the way didn't even get them that loud. I might have been using the SE output though

I tried these at Canjam NYC today. One of the first things I went for since I was surprised to see them. They are probably the most open-sounding closed backs I’ve ever heard. They have a good amount of bass while maintaining the hifiman egg sound. They are very comfy, but don’t feel $2000. They kind of hurt when I turned the music volume semi-loud. Highs were getting too much. But it was also super loud in the venue and I had them on for 10 minutes. Happy to answer any questions but just know I’m not the most reliable person to answer with authority.

I tried this setup at CanJam last year. It did indeed sound better than anything else I heard (Susvara, Final D8k pro, Utopia)

That's the reason I bought a Questyle amp, and it's also the reason I'm saving up for a Violectric. Knobbage is a big thing

I think it would be similar to how we see 3d with our eyes. If a recording was mono, you wouldn’t get imaging. But with stereo, the left/right levels + delay of an instrument would help create imaging
