ideally you delete things like Instagram/TikTok/Facebook which more often than not contribute to a negative mental health state, while also drawing you in for more "punishment", if you must use those social network platforms put them on a tablet or laptop so you have to set time aside for them and they aren't always available, it will make it easier to put down your phone as well.
Even to this day I wont keep books on my phone because if I start reading them there I'll always have a reason to need my phone, and when on vacation it is great to leave it in the room and take a paper book with me to the beach/pool

I had this problem in the "crackberry" days, the little red light drew me in.
To break this habit I stopped bringing my phone into my room. I set up a charger on a shelf outside my bedroom door, and I set my Phone on Auto shut down/auto wake up so it turned off on me when I should be going to bed.
I'd sneak my phone in and turn off the auto shut down from time to time, but after about 3 months I no longer was heavily addicted to my phone.
I only have Twitter and Reddit as my social media, and I don't follow any Meme accounts on either so I don't go down those rabbit holes. and I have a trusty old digital alarm clock in my room to wake me up if I need it, BUT I rarely use an alarm clock because I sleep well without my phone near my head and without the screen brightness just before going to sleep.

Ya I'm far from the privileged class apart from being born a white male in the 1980s
As a card carrying member of the IWW I assume you also want to replace all your stewards with AI programming because they do the same functions as board members. My wife who is a union steward goes through the same stuff as I do sitting on my local Hockey BoD, and sitting on a Canadian Safey Authority group board making sure that safety for workers is paramount in working on elevated platforms.

I think you need to have some experience on executive boards to truly grasp what happens. The good news is chances are your local youth sports organization is looking for people to be on their board every year.
There are a lot of decisions that get made that don't easily have a right or wrong answer. And picking what metrics to use to gauge success in itself can be a make or break for a company.
If it was easy to make a successful business operate we'd have far fewer business failures.

Reply to My mom wants to try video games, need recommendations. by Littl3Bastrd
I think you should expose her to many different games.
My good friends mom who we'd say is a non violent, romance reader, has been obsessed with Age of Empires for over 20yrs since she watched me playing it one day on their living room desktop and she wanted to give it a try. She plays it every day.
My 70yr old father loves Mario games still. He never was a gamer and only picked up a controller when I pushed him too, I've since been told that in his 60's he picked up the Wii and started using it.
My Wife loves RollerCoaster Tycoon, and SIMs, I've been trying to get her to Try Raft which myself and my 2 kids play.
As I type this, I think I would recommend Raft to you as it has a story element and can be played with minimal violence.
