I’d imagine it’s the same problem the international community is facing in trying to help earthquake victims in Syria. How many aid workers would even go? And who would donate money to the “government” of a failed state where we know the money wouldn’t be going to the right places?

What part of the article made you think this wasn’t something impulsive? And which part talks about the accused as a person that makes you make the determination that this guy would’ve “found a way” to stop his fleeing wife from driving away without the use of a gun?

Just because there are statistically more likely scenarios doesn’t make something a myth. It’s not a myth to win the lottery despite very few actually winning compared to the amount of people that play.

25 kids per year not being rescued doesn’t make it sound like a myth at all

Reply to comment by [deleted] in DC Police Officers Found Guilty in Karon Hylton-Brown’s Death by foodude84
“According to an indictment issued last year, Sutton violated police general orders by chasing Hylton-Brown. He and Zabavsky then intentionally misled police superiors about what happened leading up to the crash, the indictment states.”
Seems like it’s more that they didn’t follow procedure or orders, and lied about the circumstances to get an exception to continue chasing someone that the law says they were not allowed to pursue. And since they lied and broke the rules to continue the chase that ultimately led to the man’s death they are responsible.

Where the hell do you live that a dozen eggs was $.44 even before the pandemic? Around $3-$4 is pretty standard where I’m from and is now up to about $6. 900% would have me paying $27-$36 per dozen eggs, which obviously would be pretty insane.
