the city has known about its problems for DECADES and done absolutely nothing about it.
The system is owned by the CITY not the state or the feds.
The City has consistently done things to kick the can down the road and try to make others deal with it, but now they are out of proverbial road.
People want to blame the state or the feds for not giving them money, but FFS people PAY for the service, it should 100% self supporting, but the City of Jackson cant even bill the shit properly with millions of dollars of unbilled services from the water service identified in the past several audits.
so yeah just blame the state because yeah its 100% their fault

the self propelled robotic unit was just a demo, the actual implement requires a CAT3 3 point. it has an option for generator or PTO power (I'm assuming the "generator" option means it has a small diesel engine to power the actual generator vs just getting power to spin the genny from the PTO.) thats going to increase fuel cost depending on what the electrical load is... and their produce spec sheet says 2ac/hr @ 1mph compared to covering say 40acres/hr with a conventional rig (I know that 40acres/hr is just me pulling numbers from thin air and will vary based on a number of factors)

you do realize these things are PTO or generator powered. PTO being powered via the Tractors engine. this is a 3 point attachment not an autonomous robot.

Now tell me again how this is the state's or the fed's problem to pay for.
And we havent even talked about the unusually cold weather thats triggered this and the number of homes with burst pipes or maybe the rolling blackouts forced from power generators on the entire region. (Even Memphis which actually has a great water system was forced it issue boil water alerts)
so yeah make this a state or federal political thing when its just Jackson being Jackson wanting everyone else to pay for their fuckups
