Every apartment I’ve lived in has had the ONTs in the basement of the building and data was carried to each unit via coax. In the one building they had the whole wall gridded out in the demarc room and when you started service Verizon came, mounted the ONT in your little Sharpie box, and swapped the coax over from the Comcast terminal block on the opposite wall to the coax terminal on the ONT.
I still have the FiOS gateway in a box (only have Comcast where I am now); if you don’t believe me I can take a photo of the back and probably also the instruction manual. IIRC there’s two coax connections, one for WAN and one for MoCA back out to your set top boxes.

Because there’s a clear path to resolution—multiple even, because if they don’t want to sign into the app (reasonable) they can call or email—but they’re just impotently raging about it here.
If they want these scooters banned or enforced via legislation to avoid this scenario, all the power to them. Not one person has claimed this is anything less than a nuisance. But the reality is right now contacting the company is effective so refusing to do it on principle and complaining about their rights on Reddit is downvote-worthy

Reply to comment by gregaustex in How many of these recessed lights can I use on a dimmer switch? by notscammed
I don’t think they’re confused by the “100W equivalent” part. They’re asking about the limits marked on the switch. The reason it lists both is that the dimmer is genuinely rated for a smaller LED load than it’s rated for an incandescent load. But then they also looked it up and found the rough formula for calculating that derating yourself (in the event it’s an older switch or whatever that hasn’t already done the LED math for you) and got confused.

The difference with the tiki boats is it would be individual passengers falling overboard, rather than the boat sinking and taking everyone aboard down with it. As shoddily built as the tiki rafts might be, the form factor and materials would make them very hard to capsize.

I’m not sure your point. These were all older buildings, in the sense that they were built before fiber to the home became a thing. That’s basically every housing unit in Pittsburgh, as you say. Though even many brand new buildings simply aren’t running fiber to the unit, and even fewer have Cat5/6 from the demarc
