Do you not know how tides work? The tide cannot be high all weekend long. Did you keep checking at about the same time each day and never consult a tide table?

I guess the positive part is that your kids are porbably not going to be in a hurry to go back, saving you the hassle.

The root cause of your issue is that you are working too much and not setting boundaries with your boss, who is doing a shitty job of running the business by forgetting orders and overpromising.

This year's Christmas is going to be what it is, but you owe it to yourself to make it the last one where work takes such a toll on your physical and mental health.

Birthdays were fun as a kid because they often had some priviledge or life event tied to them. As an adult that doesn't happen anymore and I don't get any sort of emotional charge from people making a fuss over me. Most years I have to be reminded I have a birthday coming up.
