i loved it - was hard not to binge in one day, but i managed to stretch it out over two.
i found the parallel storylines interesting, loved the acting, appreciated and dug the historically based stories of the black woman player and her family/town, was charmed by the friendship between max and clance, was drawn in and captivated by the lesbian love stories, and was by turns moved to tears and laughter. after enough time has passed, i'm sure i'll rewatch so i can experience it all fresh again.

i recently did a re-watch, and sandy and kirsten are my favorites.
the 'welcome to the o.c., bitches!' podcast with rachel bilson and melinda clarke is really great - all episodes are posted to youtube - fun to watch their take on an episode right after watching it. loads of behind-the-scenes info and they have great guests, too, including most of the main cast.

the riches was the cancellation post-writers' strike that year that hurt the most - i loved that show.
