Oh man, I’d want to watch Lord of the Rings in theaters again for the first time. Especially Return of the King on the big screen. Loved every second of jt, cried like a baby, ugh felt like a warm hug. Now I know it so well it’s still meaningful, but not as emotional when I watch.

Oh yes, this is a good example.

This is tough! Immediately Patrick Bateman in American Psycho is another example, but from 2000. Obviously the newest Joker seems to be in this vein, but I remember there were like kids clothes with the Dark Knight Joker smile and kids dressing up like that Joker for Halloween. Phoenix’s Joker doesn’t have that level of popularity.
I’m having a hard time coming up with iconic characters like that in contemporary movies.

Daniel Day Lewis as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. Simply iconic. DDL is such a fantastic actor, but I can’t help but see him as Plainview and I can’t imagine any other actor playing that part.
Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada. No one else could have done that nearly as well. “That’s all.”
I also think no one will ever do Blade as well as Wesley Snipes, but I am excited to see Mahershela Ali try it out.

Mine was from this too!!! But it’s the hand at the carriage and the dancing! Great use of non-dialogue in that film!!!

The “hand” scene in Pride and Prejudice when Darcy helps Elizabeth into the carriage and walks away, close up on his hand flexing in excitement or feeling. Ughhhh still love love that so much. Plus their whole dance sequence when the sounds of the room fade away and it’s just them and then the music even fades out and it’s just the two of them. Perfect way to depict falling in love.

Reply to Are there any good (primarily) horror movies set in a Mad Max-type setting. by DexLovesGames_DLG
This is not really horror, but I was recently thinking of Reign of Fire. It kind of might fit because it’s so hot and desolate the whole film. You have a ton of better suggestions, The Bad Batch specifically lines up well, even though it isn’t really a great film.
You might also like The Hills Have Eyes (2006, though OG one is good too) which is set in the desert.

Hocus Pocus is a 90s PG movie and I thought it was scary then (the prospect of eating children, possessing children to get them to come to their house so they could be boiled in a pot??? Lol)

Underrated film for sure! Loved how weird it is.
