I've been to a million faith healing services, but I've never seen anything provable. Cancer, crutches, wheelchairs, missing limbs, nothing.

Even if it's not meant for foot fetishists, it's gonna attract foot fetishists. I also didn't check.

Munmun also does this. It's an alternate world where buying power determines your actual physical size. The littlepoors are the size of mice, while the extra rich are the size of skyscrapers. It's not an enormously popular book, but I like it.

There once was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it.
Doesn't sum up the whole book (Voyage of the Dawn Treader), but definitely sums up Eustace's early personality.

You make an excellent point about the two-dimensional characters. You go into her books knowing someone is a killer, and you just don't know who. You're not supposed to get too invested in anyone because someone is going to turn out to be a murderer.

This reminds me of Larry Underwood in the beginning of The Stand. He supplied the party and never noticed that his true friends had left him.

That's where I fall on the Nickelback spectrum. Not my favorite, not the worst. A lot of the hate is just jokes at Nickelback's expense.

I don't. I was just raised very religious. Like, I knew multiple televangelists. My grandfather had aspirations of becoming one. He never made it, thankfully.
