Christy Mack (Mackinday) has a difficult read Wikipedia page:

>In August 2014, Mackinday and her boyfriend Corey Thomas were assaulted by Koppenhaver in her Las Vegas home.[13][14] Mackinday sustained eighteen broken bones, a broken nose, missing teeth, a fractured rib, a ruptured liver, and a thigh bruise so deep she was unable to walk for at least a week.[15] Mackinday says Koppenhaver also attempted to rape her, but was unable to maintain an erection.

Sure, but I mean I am more interested in the psychology behind it. There are criminals who plan their crimes so that they don't get caught then there are those who are impulsive and reckless. Organized criminal vs. disorganized criminal. They tend to have different motives. I don't think its that they thought there would be no consequence if they were caught, I think its that they were disorganized criminals who thought being an officer was all they needed not to get caught.

It would be, but it would be better than life imprisonment or the death penalty depending on the state or federal decision if wrongfully convicted of eight homicides. It's not about getting our shit together. It's about being able to have a clear and accurate record of evidence as well as a fair trial. Like I mentioned, I suspect Covid played a factor in the delay as well. Keep in mind the murders were alleged to aid in racketeering and appeal to ISIS. That requires a good amount of discovery I'd imagine. This is not a normal case.

I'm sorry to hear that. Ironically as well, I believe my dad felt the same way about corporal punishment. He didn't binge drink thankfully, he was married to his work. I have never once heard him say he is sorry about even the littlest thing, I've never heard him say he's wrong about even the littlest thing, and I have never heard him say there is anything he doesn't know or understand. I am not him.
