I don't think its a new trend. Scott Pilgrim in 2010 was rated PG-13 but had multiple bleeped "fucks."

Years ago I rented Prometheus on blu ray and it had two different cuts. You know how on the group of main researcher characters there's a couple. Well the main difference in the cuts was that in one, they were a loving couple and excited to be doing their jobs and always happy to be together. And in the other they were always arguing and insulting each other and seemed genuinely pissed to be working together. That always cracked me up, like the creators couldn't decide which to go with so both are included on the blu ray.

Loved the movie when I saw it years ago and want to rewatch sometime soon. I liked how it ends with a song and dance number, just like American Psycho was supposed to at one point, felt like they took inspiration from that.

Reply to Why is todays world just completely filled with people that can’t shut the fuck up and stop complaining about movies? Everyone’s got something to say if a movie/show doesn’t meet their standards. by Purple-Application30
That's exactly the problem, all the cgi. The original movies used lots of practical effects, they actually built dinosaurs and had them move and it looked great and actually made you believe a dinosaur attack was happening, and in these new ones they just say, eh we'll just do everything on computers later and it shows.
