Not to mention banks letting houses sit until they are so expensive to repair, the only people buying them are investors who fix them then jack the price up so high that no one can afford them.
House goes into foreclosure and there's still 100k owed, by the time anything happens the house sells for 15k. How does that make any sense? There's house all aroubd my small town like this. It's even worse in the bigger towns/cities near me. It's a fucking shit show.
