A paramedic once told me he would never send a family member to UPMC McKeesport.
As for preferred hospital, UPMC Shadyside. Presbyterian is closer to me but there is too much traffic in the area currently, and parking is a pain. Shadyside is more convenient for accessibility and traffic and parking.

Where do you live?
I live in the city, and I'm 25 minutes from literally anywhere worth going to. Only place that's further than 25 minutes is the airport and Cranberry, which is 30 minutes.

Housing prices.
Commute times and proximity to anything. Regardless of where you need to go it's never more than 25 minutes away. Going to IKEA is 25 minutes and that's considered "far".
Skyline and view from Mt Washington.

If there is public transportation to the strip then there is 100% transportation into downtown. There are at least 2 buses that go from lower Lawrenceville into downtown, and at least 1 bus from upper Lawrenceville.

Why is he limited to just 3 neighborhoods? Why not downtown, the place with literally the most jobs?

There are 4 separate construction work zones around the PPG paints arena. There are 4 separate work zones on 5th Ave in Oakland between Halket and the Allies ramp.
Sometimes it's an inconvenient coincidence.
