Being as how I’m a white guy from Southern MO, have a “hillbilly” accent, and frankly do kinda look/dress “redneck”. Many people over the years have always assumed that I was racist. Though, the people that actually know me describe me as anything but. I’ve had it both ways. Someone from a minority group just automatically treating me like I’m some mouth breathing klansman. Or, conversely, I’ve had other white folks just automatically assume that I share the same hatful opinions that they have. Either way, I correct them very quickly.

On the flip side, dad's family is Jewish, but they share their surname with the skipper of the Bismarck and Martin Luther's mother. A lot of those German names are ambiguous. Even the Goldberg that Bach wrote the variations for was a gentile.
