This summer I managed to …sit through? Two Kroger brand sturdy camp chairs- they type that unfold and have a side table type thing. I was sitting, and the next minute I was folded up because the material came apart!

I need a chair that will last a long time; I’m not a huge person, 6’1” 220 lb.

Spend the money and get a helinox.

I have a helinox. My crib with them is it’s a pain to assemble and disassemble when you are mobile camping. Ex. You pull up to a spot for lunch. Assemble it. Then lunch over and you want to hit the trails again disassemble. Then you stop for the night assemble again. It’s very light weight, next morning it’s blown away/ over. Again mine is a niche usecase where I don’t camp in spot for more than a night. If you are a get to campground and stay for a few days camper or if you are tight on space/ weight like motorcycle camping helinox is amazing.

Nemo stargaze recliner is by far the most comfortable camp chair I've ever sat in. And they come with a lifetime warranty but don't feel like you'll ever need it. Price seems insane til you have one, and now I have 4

I've got one from REI as well. Comfort and build-wise it's incredible. Everything looks very solid, but I've only taken it on a couple of trips, so I can't vouch for the buyitforlife qualities.

If looking for the most sturdy the Alps Mountaineering King Kong and the Coleman steel camp chair are very sturdy. My frustration was that they don’t pack small. Take a look at Front Runner camp chair. It’s more a director style sit-up than lean back nuts it robust and packs real small

I love my Lafuma chairs purchased from Amazon. Extremely light weight and comfortable.

I like the front runner chair.

Depends on style you want, level of comfort and volume.

I'd try one at rei!

My BIL is a big dude who needs a sturdy chair and loves these ones. They seem super indestructible, but the trade off is that they are not the most lightweight, packable chairs.

I have a GI camp chair that the rothco rambler 2 is molded after- Its only function is so your butt doesnt have to touch the wet ground- not super comfortable, not hyper light, not pretty. It was survived the harshest of working conditions and the stitching has not even begun to seperate on the chair material.

cosmetically if i was interested I could "customize" it myself as the seat material could be upgraded for cordura 1000d if i really wanted to overbuild it.

I waited for price drop on Amazon using camelcamelcamel, got this for $30, very happy: Coleman Big-N-Tall Quad Camping Chair. Currently just under $40.

I have a Helinox and also an Amazon knock off of it. I really don’t see or feel the difference. As a bigger guy my favorite camp chair to date is the Cascade Mountain Tech Hammock Camp Chair. Had it for 2 seasons and it’s holding up great.

The Costco foldable chairs that allow you to go to fully horizontal. (The ones with the thick fabric suspended between metal frames by elastic) They are amazing, we have some that must be 24 years old with constant use and the only maintenance is replacing the elastic once a decade.

Onetigris knock-off of the helinox one chair. Same build quality, about half the price. Been with me for only two years so far, but it's a sturdy little thing...

I bought the OneTigris backpacking chair and I love it. Good for 330lbs, very sturdy and packs down very small. I keep one in every vehicle. The Cliq chair is the name brand, but doesn’t have nearly as good of reviews and it’s more than double the price.

GCI rocker camp chair. My wife and I have had ours for 3+ years. We camp most of the summer and bring them to every sport played by our children, all year. Showing no signs of wear at this point

You are overweight, 7lb off being obese.

Peliquin t1_isp2cps wrote

You cannot know that from those numbers. For all we know this guy has legs like tree trunks and a chest of steel.

I can make a statistically probable deduction. And it doesn't matter all that much whether it's fat or muscle, the chair sees the same weight. It's just far, far more likely that a significant portion of the weight is fat and OP is kidding themselves about their size.
